Making A Difference Counts

Patriots Youth Football Team

Picture
The Patriots Youth Football Team will address the need of fitness for inner city male youth, ages 6 – 11 years old through structured football programming.  With 35.6% of Ohio youth ages 10 to 17 being obese or overweight, the Patriots Football program prepares to instill good physical fitness habits, citizenship, mentoring and academic improvement.  We look to provide these youth proper exercise habits, improved social skills, positive behaviors to deter them from being overweight, in addition to assisting them in avoiding negative peer pressures and educational assistance.  These youth are of great concern to our organization as we look at data provided by the most recent annual report filed by Cleveland’s Juvenile Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas which identified a total of 11,254 “Delinquency and Unruly” cases being filed with African-American youth making up 64% of the individual offenders, the highest of any minority group.

We look forward to our minimal team fees, free transportation, educational assistance and male role models motivating parents to afford their children to participate in our fitness programming for several years to come, in addition to the community's assistance in making this program a success.
